CRIMINAL, CIVIL & ADMINISTRATIVE LITIGATION
THE FIRM
Bains Partners is one of Canada’s leading boutique law firms, concentrating on criminal, civil and administrative litigation.
PRACTICE
We use the latest technologies and approaches to all litigation. Our lawyers, investigators, paralegals, students and staff are keenly aware of new developments in any field which will assist in the representation of clients, in an ever-changing world.
We honour the noblest traditions of our profession by approaching our work fearlessly and with integrity.
We are committed to the passionate representation of all clients who retain us, no matter what challenges they face. Many of our criminal cases involve the defence of alleged homicides, multi-million dollar frauds, and drug trafficking, as well as alleged offences under other statutes such as Securities, Environmental, Income Tax and Competition Acts. We represent, as well, clients who face all manner of other charges, from drinking and driving offences to theft.
On the civil side, we are often retained by clients who are in litigation against government and policing authorities for a variety of torts, and wrongful behavior by the state. This commonly includes cases of negligent investigation and malicious prosecution. We also act for both plaintiffs and defendants in other areas of commercial and civil law where our clients require justice such as in cases of wrongful dismissal, employment law, partnership and shareholder disputes, breaches of contract, professional negligence, human rights claims, libel, slander, and real estate litigation.
We are also retained as Counsel on inquiries, including Coroners’ Inquests.
We represent clients throughout Ontario, other Canadian Provinces, and the United States, where we are regularly retained as Counsel.
